I reached out to Stacey for support with fueling my body during all of the phases of IBD and expanding my diet past my very short list of "safe foods." I needed support navigating nutrition that supported my Crohn's diagnosis.
Stacey provided personal curated care specific to my needs and circumstances. She provided me with a custom guide to support my IBD journey from flares to remission to everything in between. Stacey provided me with the tools and resources to be successful and to feel empowered to continue my nutrition journey on my own. Stacey listened to everything I had to say and provided me with resources to support every single one of my concerns- food related or otherwise!

Stacey is a brilliant educator who understands both the science and the lived experience. But more importantly, this [webinar] is an empowering tool for a population living with an illness that can often feel disempowering.

ISE, B., moderate-to-severe ulcerative colitis
The nutrition plan and recipes that Stacey gives are super thorough and extremely helpful and beneficial. Also something that was very helpful to me was just her mindset and perspective that she shared around food during a flare up. I was pretty scared to eat a lot of food and she helped reintroduce a lot back into my diet that I now eat while still in a flare.

Stacey created a personalized plan for my dietary needs. She took my lab work and created a resource that is extremely helpful. I use this as a resource every week when I am meal planning or looking to add more foods back into my diet. It helped outline the benefits certain foods have verse others are not a great option for myself. She went above and beyond. I was expecting a virtual appointment and when she sent me a personalized plan I was blown away with her professionalism and resources she offered me.

Ker, C., ulcerative colitis (part 2)
Stacey took the time to explain to me what was happening in my body, the types of foods I should be eating given the stage of my disease, and the foods I should be avoiding. I felt like I was able to make good choices for myself because I understood the science behind it.
If you’re struggling with Ulcerative Colitis or Crohn’s, Stacey is a no-brainer. She’ll really LISTEN to your concerns and symptoms, and provide you with the knowledge, education, and support you need to see improvements. I have recommended her to several people already because I had such an amazing experience with her!

Her presentation helped me realize that I was not the only one that does not fully understand our healthcare system…and highlighted the fact how important it is to advocate.

[One] thing I loved from her lecture was how she brought to our attention that we can advocate for ourselves and our loved ones by writing to our representatives and senators…tell our story, paint a picture of how a change in a bill would help our family…

Cra, H., Crohn’s disease (perioperative)
Working with Stacey has been a huge blessing during the most difficult time in my disease. The unique thing about Stacey is that she has experience with IBD, and so she doesn’t just talk at you like other dietitians. Her advice comes from a place of understanding and compassion. She will only give you information if it’s evidence-based, and she spends a lot of time staying up to date with new IBD research/trends. I always feel so comfortable talking to her because she brings her patient and RD expertise to every appointment. I highly recommend Stacey for any IBD patient, and especially if you’re in pre/post surgery.

Itt, C., microscopic colitis
Stacey is an incredible dietitian and human being. Her attuned, understanding stance combined with her training, knowledge base and evidence-informed guidance have altered the course of my disease-and life. She helped me develop a plan that allows me to eat so much more variety than I EVER thought possible, while having a plan to get back to basics when I experience symptoms. I did not believe it was possible at the onset of our work together that I could lead a relatively normal life with very minimal symptom interruption, but she kept the faith and tailored my plan to fit my disease and lifestyle. I could not recommend her highly enough to anyone experiencing IBD.

Ker, S., j-pouch (perioperative)
I connected with Stacey a few months prior to my J-Pouch reconstruction surgery. My goal was to find nutritional support going into surgery and the months following. Stacey gave me that and so much more! From our first session, I felt 100% supported and knew she was 100% invested in me. I would recommend working with Stacey to anyone, no matter where they are in their IBD journey! The experience she has and knowledge in her field is truly unmatched. Working with Stacey has given me the confidence to try new foods and tools I know I will use the rest of my life – to live confidently with my J-Pouch!

Ker, C., ulcerative colitis (part 1)
Stacey had me get a full blood panel done when we started working together. She found immediately that I was iron deficient and provided an iron supplement recommendation. Having been in a bad UC flare for 8+ months, I was shocked that my doctors never tested for this. The iron supplement helped me increase my energy levels almost immediately…
I found Stacey’s knowledge of ulcerative colitis and how nutrition impacts ME given my disease to be the most beneficial part of working together. I’ve seen nutritionists and dietitians in the past who thought they could “cure” me with diet (spoiler: they didn’t).

Ede, D., j-pouch (postoperative)
I think one of the most important things I got out of working with Stacey is my increase in confidence when trying food. I have been hesitant around food after having IBD for many years and had many food fears. She helped me to create a sense of safety around food and taught me how to add in new foods slowly to maintain this sense of safety. I have felt very proud as I’ve added 5+ new foods in just the short time working with her…
I also wish I had known about the benefits of working with Stacey before surgery. I struggled with malnutrition before surgery which created an added obstacle after surgery. I also feared that Stacey would suggest eliminating many foods or following a really restrictive plan like what was suggested to me by the hospital nutritionists. Stacey did the opposite of that! She encouraged me to add new things into my diet!
